Assistant Professor, graduated in Physics and obtained a PhD in Sociology, works as a researcher at the Institute of the Development and Strategic Analysis in Ljubljana and teaches at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana and Faculty of Advanced Social Studies, University of Nova Gorica. His research themes are linked to communities, the civil sphere and social capital as well as issues dealing with the post-modern culture and the phenomenon of religion and beliefs. He is especially interested in the dialogue in inter-personal, inter-cultural and inter-religions communication. He is currently participating at an international project on religion. Within IRSA, he is involved in Program Group.
Igor Bahovec is an author of two scientific monographs (Skupnosti : teorije, oblike, pomeni –Communities: Theories, Forms, Meanings, Ljubljana, 2005. Postmoderna kultura in duhovnost – Postmodern Culture and Spirituality, Ljubljana, 2009) and (co)author of more than fifty articles in scientific and professional magazines and monographs. He, moreover, edited two monographs: Thomas Luckmann. Družba, komunikacija, smisel, transcendenca – Society, Communication, Sense, Transcendence (together with V. Potočnikom), Ljubljana, 2007 and Robert Schuman. Za Evropo .- For Europe. Celje, 2003.
