He is the (co)author of more than 350 publications (including research reports and popular articles) in domestic and international monographs and magazines. The majority of his scientific articles, which in recent years deal with the phenomenon of populism, with the social role of meritocracy and the importance of experts as well as cognitive mobilization in the context of a pandemic, are published in international (peer-reviewed) journals that are included in the Web of Science or Scopus database.
He currently has 591 pure citations in the Scopus database and 359 in the WoS database. He acts as a reviewer for several international and domestic journals and monographs, as well as a reviewer who evaluates applications for European projects (ERC). As a social commentator and analyst, he is present in public discussions.

Her past research focused on the phenomenology and ethnography of decision-making, as well as the phenomenology of the self and of group synchronizations. She obtained her master’s degree in cognitive science from the Middle-European interdisciplinary program MEi:CogSci and graduated in English studies and Japanology from the University of Ljubljana.

Research Associate at the Institute for Developmental and Strategic Analysis (IRSA) and Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Information Studies

At the IRSA Institute, she is a member of the Sociocultural and Organizational Aspects of Knowledge and Technology Transfer program group. In recent years, she has also actively participated in other institute projects, such as Meritocracy and the knowledge society – between simulation and reality, Analysis of the effectiveness of management of epidemics in Slovenia – International comparison and interdisciplinary approach, and Active Citizenship in times of (post) Covid-19. She is also an assistant at the Faculty for Information Studies in Novo mesto.

Her research deals primarily with the topic of meritocracy and the role of knowledge, science and experts in society. She is a member of the National Committee of the Program for the Management of Social Change (MOST) at the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO and a recipient of the ASEF Junior Fellow 2021 scholarship.

Dr. Martina Plantak works as a researcher at IRSA and as an assistant professor and project coordinator at DOBA Business School Maribor. She holds a PhD in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Relations. Her doctoral studies were conducted through a joint program between Andrássy University in Budapest and Danube University Krems in Austria.

Her research focuses on the study of international relations, with a particular focus on Central Europe and the Western Balkans. She explores how political-sociological relations shape the dynamics of cooperation between states and the impact of nationalism and identities on international politics, society, and technology. She has many years of experience in marketing and management, working in large international companies and start-ups.

Professor, lecturer, and researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden and International Business School, Jönköping, as well as a member of the IRSA. He is the editor of the Springer Book Collection. His last monograph was published in 2018 and is entitled In the post-urban world: emergent transformation of cities and regions in the innovative global economy. It also deals with regional development, social capital, innovation, entrepreneurship and peripheral and rural regions.

Assistant Professor, graduated in Physics and obtained a PhD in Sociology, works as a researcher at the Institute of the Development and Strategic Analysis in Ljubljana and teaches at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana. His research themes are linked to communities, the civil sphere and social capital as well as issues dealing with the post-modern culture and the phenomenon of religion and beliefs. He is especially interested in the dialogue in inter-personal, inter-cultural and inter-religions communication.
