Darka Podmenik, PhD

Senior researcher

Holds a MSc in Communication Sciences and PhD in Sociology, currently a senior researcher at the IRSA institute. Her research focuses mainly on the transition of educated youth from schooling to work, active citizenship, qualitative and quantitative methods in the social sciences. Currently, she leads the Slovene team of the international project UC-Crowd and is the senior researcher at the CONTEST project.

For a number of years, she has been investigating models of evaluation to be applied to universities, as well as investments in higher education. She lectured on Sociology of Mass Media at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, as well as on Youth Unemployment at the Faculty for Applied Social Sciences, Nova Gorica and at the Faculty for Information Sciences, Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
